Victorian Teas

Dear Friends,

We hope everyone is doing well and is enjoying some Autumn pleasures! We know that this is the time that you began to anticipate your holiday plans including our Victorian Holiday Tea. However, we regret that due to COVID-19 pandemic we have decided to cancel this year’s event.

As many of you know, our teas require planning many months ahead and require participation from our members. We have been unable to meet for the usual preparation process needed to present the event at the quality level our guests have come to expect. Furthermore, we feel that even as restrictions are being lifted on some gatherings, the venue and structure of the teas are not such that they can accommodate the precautions necessary for a safe event at this time.

Our tea is our signature event and one that the members of the MWCSL look forward to as much as our community and our guests do. We will miss seeing each and every one of you and we hope that by forgoing the event this year, we will be able to celebrate with you next year! We appreciate and wish you all health and happiness in the coming holiday season!

Victorian Holiday Teas

A Matthews Tradition for 30 Years!

Our signature fundraising event, the Victorian Holiday Tea at the Historic Reid House, is an event not to be missed!  It takes place the first weekend in December and is the perfect way to start the holiday season.

You’ll be greeted by carolers in Victorian costumes as you enter the festively decorated Reid House.  Every room in the house has been expertly designed with a unique holiday theme.

Enjoy an array of delicious savory appetizers, yummy sweets and warm scones, served on beautiful china, while sipping hot tea served from silver teapots.  Listen to angelic music from a harpist while having warm conversations with your friends and family.  Historical storytellers, dressed in Victorian attire, bring you back in time to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.

The Victorian Holiday Tea sells out quickly so sign up for our mailing list to be notified when tickets go on sale.

Your support of our Victorian Holiday Tea fundraiser helps us carry on a tradition and enables us to help others in the community!
